    1 OPIOID Continuing Education Credit

Program Overview: The Rutgers Interdisciplinary Opioid Trainers (RIOT) Presentation, titled Addressing the Opioid Epidemic: A Primer on Opioid Addiction, Overdose Management, and Medications for Opioid Use Disorder, provides a broad overview of the current US opioid crisis. The presentation includes information on opioid use disorder (OUD), overdose management, and Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). Delivered by graduate students from Rutgers University, including those in medicine, pharmacy, and public health, the presentation explores how social, economic, and cultural factors contribute to substance use patterns and influence access to care. It highlights systemic barriers to treatment and examines MOUD options, including Methadone, Buprenorphine and Naltrexone. The presentation also discusses the bio- psycho-social-spiritual framework and emphasizes the importance of comprehensive, inclusive, and patient-centered approaches to treatment and recovery. Our goal is to reduce stigma and increase awareness about the opioid crisis and MOUDs.

orienting) for regulation in clinical settings
    4) Identify signs of client resistance or dissociation and use pacing/titration
